The 2011 National Convention of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will be held in Montgomery Alabama.  Montgomery is where the delegates met to form a new country and Montgomery served as the first capitol of the Confederacy 150 years ago in 1861.

Some of the things to look forward to are;
1. Golf Tournament in Prattville Capitol Hill Golf Course
2. Tours of the Capitol, First White House and Archives and History Building
3. Tour of Old Alabama Town
4. Re-enactment of Jefferson Davis being elected President
5. Trip to Confederate Memorial Park in Marbury where there will be re-enactments etc.
Much Much More...................

"The focus of the sesquicentennial is not simply about the war. The focus is not simply the individual battles or the individual events. Our focus should be on the men who fought, and what they fought for, The Cause for Southern Independence. The SCV's charge states our mission clearly: "the vindication of the Cause for which we fought."  It is NOT simply the WAR, but rather "the CAUSE" that binds us as descendants of Confederate Soldiers."
J. Howard Chalmers III, Chairman
